Delete your account
Last updated: 24 September 2026
You can delete your Letterbird account at any time. Your account closes right away and is erased 30 days later.
Delete it in the app
- Open Letterbird and sign in.
- Go to Settings.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
Delete it without the app
If you can't use the app, send us a request with your Letterbird ID and the email address on your account. We'll email that address to confirm it's you before we delete anything.
Thanks, we've received your request. We'll write to the email address you gave within 7 days to confirm it's you, then close the account. If you don't hear from us, email support@letterbird.app.
What gets deleted
- Your profile: ID, letterbird.me name, avatar, bio, interests, languages and country.
- Letters and postcards you received, your drafts, and the nicknames you gave others.
- Your stamp album, coins and any remaining Premium time. These can't be refunded or moved to another account.
- Your email address and sign-in details.
What stays
- Letters you sent stay in the recipients' mailboxes, because they belong to them too. They show as sent by a deleted member, without your ID.
- Reports involving your account are kept for up to 1 year after they are closed, to keep other members safe.
- Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires. They don't include your letters or profile.
Changed your mind?
Your account closes right away. If you change your mind within 30 days, email support@letterbird.app from the address on your account and we'll restore it. After 30 days, everything listed above is erased for good.
